Craig Lazarus is the man. When I applied to grad school recently and had to write a couple big essays, he helped me organize my thoughts to create a better flow of my ideas. When it came time for my son Dylan to work on his college essays, he became frustrated. He knew what he wanted to say, but didn't know how to say it. My wife and I tried, but our help only seemed to make his frustration level grow. I had worked with Laz at a school in New York, and we were part of the same camp organization during the summers. He offered his help, and within a few hours, Dylan had essays he was proud of. It was all his ideas, but the ideas were organized and expressed in a very personal yet professional way. When it came time for my daughter to start her college essays, our family was very anxious about getting our daughter’s true colors to come out. Instead of telling her what to write about, Craig took his time getting to know her first. I was most impressed by his ability to get our daughter to relax and focus on the most important things such as finding the right topics for her, not just what she thought a reader might want. His caring nature from years of teaching and mentoring kids is his best attribute. He really understands the pressure our kids are under in these trying times and cuts right through it. I knew that he was a published author and a long-time teacher, but I did not know that his power is really learning what motivates the writer and then he gives them the permission to just “let it flow”. I cannot recommend Craig highly enough to anyone who feels lost in the entire process and needs someone to step in and provide the necessary direction.

As our daughter progressed through her junior year, we were underwhelmed by the college admission support she was receiving from her school’s guidance counselor. We met Laz through a mutual friend and were delighted to have him work with us on our daughter’s college admission essays. Senior year is stressful enough and having him help her identify the most relevant topics to cover and tell her story enabled her bring out her best as she put pen to paper. Her final essay was amazing and couldn’t have asked for anything better! He even helped her keep it down to length - a challenge for her! We’re not sure how she could have gotten through this critical step without his guidance.
